Claire’s, retailer of accessories and jewellery, was founded in 1961 as Fashion Tress Industries (FTI) by Rowland Schaefer. FTI focused on fashion wigs. In 1973 Fashion Tress acquired Claire’s, a jewelry chain. The new firm was named Claire’s stores, Inc. Claire's sell accessories geared towards tweens, teens, and young adults. The collection carries jewellry, accessories, hair accessoiries and make-up. In 2011 claires.com was launched.
